A hybrid technique which combines the finite element method with the moment method is proposed for the analysis of waveguide coupling by means of irregular apertures or slots. An example is given to verify the validity of the hybrid technique, while the numerical predictions are supported by results obtained using conventional moment methods. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
