We show how high‐order narrow‐band microwave filters can be built with the help of various unitary first‐order recursive cells in strict accordance to low‐frequency principles. We illustrate our approach with the simulated results for a third‐order filter in the 2.25–8.4‐GHz frequency range. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
