A new rectenna circuit is described. The rectenna circuit uses a bow‐tie antenna integrated with a diode. The newly developed bow‐tie rectenna has a high conversion efficiency, is broadband, is not sensitive to the angle of the incident field, has a good match to its circuit, and behaves as a low‐pass filter for dc output. A microwave‐to‐dc conversion efficiency of 79% has been achieved at 2.45 GHz. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
