A novel matrix perturbation theory to the eigenequation [h][u] = Δ[u] is investigated, in which the perturbation solutions to eigenvalue Δ and eigenvector [u] are given. One of the applications of the above theory‐application in a microwave resonate cavity‐is researched. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
