A space‐time analysis of the field radiated from microstrip dipoles embedded in a low‐loss grounded dielectric slab is proposed. The analysis is based on the dyadic Green's function method. The radiation mechanism as well as the structure electrical and geometrical parameters influencing the radiation phenomenon are analyzed. Design guidelines to reduce the amplitude of the radiated field, or its distortion, are suggested. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
