This article describes a technique to reduce the poor conditioning of linear systems to be solved for numerical inverse‐scattering solutions based on integral formulations and on the moment method. Some preliminary results are reported to show the improvement over a previously proposed approach. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
