In an anechoic chamber, radar cross‐section (RCS) or antenna measurements intensify the need of knowing perfectly the electromagnetic (em) behavior of the locale of treatment. So it is very important to characterize the noise in the anechoic chamber. This can be done by locating and recognizing the elements which cause the perturbation. In this article a new technique using a combination of polarimetric and time domain analyses is presented. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
