In this article the vector field of TEM pl modes in a concave spherical quasioptical cavity is investigated by the complex source point theory (CSPT) and multipole theory (MT). The resonant frequencies for TEM pl ‐modes are also obtained. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
