Lumped constant branch line couplers are analyzed and compared with coaxial branch line couplers. The effect of resistances associated with inductors and capacitors on the coupler's performance is studied. Three high‐power lumped couplers of 3 dB, 6 dB, and 10 dB are designed at 53 MHz. Insertion loss of less than 0.1 dB and 40‐kW peak power handling capability is achieved.
