Antenna parameters of microstrip leaky‐wave antennas are highly affected by the complex nature of the propagation factor. Beam direction, beamwidth, gain, side‐lobe level, efficency, and input impedence for different lengths and linewidths are investigated. The antenna showed good performance and promising features. Efficiency up to 90%, – 18‐dB side‐lobe level, 9‐dB gain, and 20° beamwidth can be obtained.
