A theoretical and numerical analysis of the rectangular microstrip antenna with a dielectric cover is presented. Numerical results on input impedance are given, showing that the main effect of the dielectric cover is to reduce the resonant frequency, with only minor changes in the resonant resistance and the impedance bandwidth.
