We present certain novel characteristics of the radiation pattern of a chirostrip dipole antenna which consists of a short horizontal dipole antenna on a grounded chiral substrate. Chiral materials are characterized by constitutive relations D = ϵ e E + iϵ c B and H = B /μ c + iϵ e E . In our theoretical analysis we show that the radiation pattern of a simple chirostrip horizontal dipole undergoes a rotation around the axis normal to the substrate and that this rotation depends on the value of the chirality iϵ e . Applications of this novel antenna are mentioned.
