A new receiver scheme is presented for homodyne and intradyne satellite optical links. It is based on the property that the circular polarization of the transmitted optical signal, required in space communication for platform rotation insensitiveness, detected by a polarization diversity receiver provides in‐phase and in‐quadrature electrical signals.
