Transit‐time measurements of the leading edge of pulse‐modulated microwaves propagating in a waveguide have been performed in time domain. These measurements show that a part of the energy associated with the leading edge of the pulse propagates with a phase velocity exceeding the intrinsic velocity in free space. Calibration techniques and repeated measurements confirm this phenomenon.
