Analysis of a planar periodic structure formed with two different microstrip line sections is presented. Closed‐form expressions for the ABCD parameters of a structure with N unit cells are derived. The input‐output characteristics of the structure are very similar to a bandpass/bandstop filter. Numerical results for the normalized output power provide good agreement with the measured data.
