The effective dielectric constant method is known for analyzing propagation characteristics of dielectric waveguides. In this paper we discuss the substance of this method. Further, an effective dielectric parameter method having higher accuracy is introduced. The agreement between experimental values and the values calculated by this method is shown to be quite good.
