The possible use of microstrip arrays for 12 GHz satellite reception has been evaluated. In particular a 32 × 32 element array has been synthesized that considers both a broadside solution and a beam‐steered approach. The interesting results that have been achieved show the great promise of planar arrays for end‐user applications.
