A new type of printed radiator has been designed, fabricated, and tested. This radiator is in the form of an annular ring with a narrow break in the form of a slot. The antenna is fed by a microstripline and has yielded a VSWR less than 2.0 over a 20% band width. Because of its low profile construction and large bandwidth, this antenna can find wide application as an element radiator in phased array antennas.
