A single longitudinal shunt slot in a rectangular waveguide radiating into a parallel plate region is analyzed. An expression for the magnetic field in the parallel plate region is obtained by developing a Green's function for this region. The slot admittance is computed. The subsequent formulation involves derivation of an integral equation which is solved by the method of moments. Good agreement with measurements has been established.
