Using picosecond photoconductors switched by a mode‐locked laser along with a filter and amplifier, we were able to generate an optically synchronized 20‐GHz wave, Stability characterization measurements were then performed on this signal, indicating its application to a number of high‐speed signal processing and phase‐control operations, such as a monolithic phased‐array antenna.
