Abstract In this article, a novel wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with narrow notch band is presented. It is composed of two sets of shunt microstrip‐to‐slotline vertical transitions, a coplanar waveguide (CPW) connecting line, and a meandering half‐wavelength slotline section. Utilizing the synthesis method based on the transmission line network, a four‐pole BPF with Chebyshev equal‐ripple frequency response is realized in the desired passband. The narrow notch band with 3‐dB fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 3% at the center frequency 2.75 GHz is introduced by an embedding meandering slotline stub. To verify the theoretical prediction, the proposed BPF is fabricated and measured. The circuit model and EM simulation are consistent with theoretical calculation and test results, which sufficiently confirm the correctness and feasibility of the design method.
