Aiming at the increasingly serious water pollution problem, this article proposes a floating waste monitoring method based on the characteristics of millimeter wave radiation. The method is based on the basic principles of microwave radiation and the radiometric characteristics of floating wastes. In this method, we establish a multilayer media model of floating wastes and get the radiometric temperature of different pollutants. The database of wastes based on radiometric temperature of water surface has been proposed and established. Simulation and experimental show that there is a significant difference between the floating wastes and the surface water radiometric temperature, which can be distinguished different pollutants through contrast and achieved the purpose of environmental monitoring.
