There have been few studies on the effects of various FPCB manufacturing options on signal attenuation. This article represents the results of an effort to understand quantitatively the attenuation impact of commonly used manufacturing options, such as film/adhesive material, pretreatment, and FCCL process. Coupons from several different product FPCB constructions were measured and compared in terms of per‐unit‐length attenuation. While it is not a comprehensive compilation, it is more extensive than previously available. These results will be helpful to make a real trade‐off between electrical performance and manufacturing concerns.
