In this work, we report the performance evaluation of Erbium/Ytterbium (Er 3+ /Yb 3+ ) codoped fiber amplifier based on theoretical simulations. The proposed design achieved a broadband small signal gain of around 43.5 dB while incorporating a short length of 10 m codoped fiber at an optimized pump power of 100 mW. A minimum noise figure of 4.9 dB was observed at 1560 nm.
