A novel extremely miniaturized dual‐mode defected ground structure (DGS) duplexer based on fractal structure is presented. To further reduce the circuit size, the novel DGS resonator with Hilbert fractal structure is used. The equivalent circuits of the presented duplexer are given to analyze and design the duplexer. An extremely miniaturized dual‐mode DGS‐resonator duplexer with the center frequencies of 1.9 GHz and 2.14 GHz, respectively is designed and assembled. The total size of the assembled duplexer is only 0.23λg × 0.1λg. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated results.
