In this study, passive edge filter design was implemented by using I‐6, I‐25, M‐5, M‐12 erbium‐doped fibers. For this purpose, first the highest bandwidth and the steepest slope regions of the erbium‐doped fibers were determined in the simulation environment. The experimental setup was realized by using the most appropriate lengths of erbium‐doped fibers found in the simulation study. For I‐25 erbium‐doped fiber, an edge filter with a bandwidth of 32.8 nm and a slope angle of 50.77° was obtained.
