A compact dual wideband semi‐circular shape micro‐strip patch antenna is proposed for Ku/K band applications. The proposed antenna structure comprises of a modified T‐shape slot on the patch. Simulated and measured bandwidths of 2.12 GHz and 1.92 GHz at lower frequency bands (16.60‐18.72 GHz) and (16.78‐18.70 GHz) respectively are reported. We observe simulated and measured bandwidths of 0.77 GHz and 0.81 GHz at higher frequency bands (22.66‐23.43 GHz) and (22.56‐23.37 GHz), respectively. Ringing resonating frequencies are observed at lower operating band and are responsible for gain degradation.
