In this paper, a Ku‐band filter was designed based on the Gap Waveguide (GW) technology with improved out‐of‐band response. After extracting an appropriate circuit model for the intended filter, different parts of it such as the resonators, couplers between resonators as well as input and output couplers to resonators were implemented using the GW structures. After the filter was designed in the operating frequency band, its out‐of‐band behavior, which occurs due to the excitation of higher modes, was examined and the characteristics of the filter were improved in out‐of‐operating frequency band. Finally, the filter was fabricated and a comparison of the simulation results with the measurement results confirmed the validity of the designed method.
