In this article, a modified two‐way Gysel power combiner, which has second harmonic control and internal matching characteristic, is implemented to reduce the overall circuit size. Further, we proposed a generalized mathematical method for N‐way design, as an extension. The modified two‐way Gysel power combiner is implemented to have fundamental input impedance of 33.1 + j13.4 at 2.1 GHz and second harmonic of 4.5–j23.7 at 4.2 GHz to achieve the return loss of −41dB. To verify the mathematical method of the modified N‐way power combiner, it is applied to a four‐way Gysel power combiner, and the simulated return loss of −41.67 dB and isolation of −50.43 dB validated the proposed design method.
