In this manuscript a design of silicon on insulator (SOI)‐based dielectric (silicon nitride) Optical Leaky Wave Antenna loaded with periodic circular and diamond shape semiconductor (Si) perturbation is proposed. This optical antenna is excited at one end of dielectric waveguide. The proposed design is also compared with the existing design and the results are obtained which shows that proposed design is more efficient than the existing one. The design results in form of transmission coefficient and reflection coefficient are compared. The efficiency is increased by introducing circular and diamond shape perturbation in the waveguide. The designed Optical Leaky Wave Antenna will be applicable in optical switching and optical imaging.
