An equilateral triangle ring slot antenna with substrate‐integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity‐backed and multiband characteristics is presented in this article. The proposed antenna consists of an equilateral triangular‐ring slot on the top layer of the substrate, an equilateral triangular ground plane on the bottom and an equilateral triangle SIW cavity. The proposed antenna is fed by a probe. By tuning the position of feeding point, four bands are generated by four different modes which are TM 10 , TM 22 , TM 12 , and TM 33 . The measured results of the prototype have a good agreement with simulation.
