This article presents the design of an ultrawideband active integrated antenna based on an electric dipole and the results of its testing. The antenna is intended to perform low‐distortion measurements of the instantaneous electric field strength of short pulses whose spectra lie within the frequency range from 0.05 to 3 GHz. The antenna is fabricated using the technology of printed circuit boards on a 1‐mm thick FR4 plate of dimensions 60 × 28 mm. It has a built‐in balancing‐to‐unbalancing unit and an unbalanced output. The difference in output voltage pulse waveform between the proposed antenna and a reference TEM‐antenna is insignificant.
