A saline‐water monopole antenna array is proposed in this article. The saline‐water monopole antenna consists of a feeding probe and a saline‐water cylinder held by a polyvinyl chloride tube. The feeding probe is loaded with a mental disk on the top to improve the excitation of TM mode, and there is a teflon base between the water and ground to maximize the bandwidth. The saline‐water monopole antenna is placed in the middle of the ground, around which, four parasitic saline‐water monopoles are symmetrically placed so that a cross‐shaped saline‐water monopole antenna array is formed. By controlling the injection of the water and the heights of the water cylinders, the antenna array achieves reconfigurable frequencies and patterns with high efficiency. The commercial software ANSYS HFSS is used for the antenna modeling and simulation. The final design is fabricated and tested. A good agreement is obtained between the simulation and measurement results.
