Miniaturized planar coupled‐line bandstop filter with improved and extended pass‐band performances

A compact four‐section coupled‐line circuit is proposed to design a novel bandstop filter with improved and extended pass‐band performances in this study. The measured results of the microstrip prototype bandstop filter indicate that it achieves a 0.39‐GHz stop bandwidth with 20‐dB suppression and a high frequency‐ratio (5.58) upper pass band with 19‐dB return loss, simultaneously. The group delay values at two pass bands are in the range of 0.45 to 0.8 ns, indicating flat group delay performances.
