Novel designs of modified rectangular shape printed monopole antenna for Ultra wide band response are proposed, which gives bandwidth across 1GHz–10 GHz range. Further two variations of rectangular shape patches to realize tunable notch characteristics, are also presented. They yield tunable notch characteristics in two different frequency bands. Proposed antennas give broadside radiation pattern with peak gain of 2 dBi.
