This paper investigates the field uniformity and uncertainties in a mode‐tuned reverberation chamber when nonequidistant tuner position is used. Both simulation and actual measurements have been carried out to compare the field uniformity and sample correlation between the conventional equidistant tuner position and nonequidistant tuner position. Results show that the standard deviation of the electric field is superior with the latter scheme and mean time the sample correlation has also been improved. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
