We present a dual resonant substrate integrated waveguide cavity‐backed slot antenna with over 34% bandwidth at X‐band. A sequential rotation feeding scheme is employed to achieve circular polarization using two differential ports, resulting in excellent isolation. The antenna achieves wideband circularly polarized radiation with symmetric patterns in both principal planes. The full‐wave simulation results demonstrate a peak gain of 6.0 dB and a radiation efficiency >96% over the operating impedance bandwidth. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
