This letter presents the design and measured results of a wideband dual‐polarized array antenna for K/Ka‐band wireless communication. The proposed antenna is assembled with several single‐layer low‐permittivity dielectric substrates and two hollow aluminum plates. A rectangular patch, with a parasitic square patch above and a 0.5 mm‐air‐layer in between, is designed as the basic radiating element. Constrained feeding and coupling feeding are both imposed on the rectangular patches with a common ground to separate two feeding networks and optimization of the feeding networks is implemented to solve the coupling problem. As an example, an 8 × 8 array is designed and fabricated. Measured results show that a bandwidth of 21.4% from 25 GHz to 31 GHz has been achieved, with a gain more than 20 dBi and an isolation more than 30 dB for the orthogonal polarizations throughout the whole band. The cross‐polarization level is less than − 20 dB. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 58:2377–2381, 2016
