This article presents a novel tunable diplexer, which consists of two tunable bandpass channels based on a pair of mixed coupling varactor‐tuned stepped‐impedance resonators (VTSIRs), and a common‐T junction constructed by two three‐element T‐networks. Two channels of the proposed tunable diplexer can be either independently tuned or simultaneously tuned toward high/low frequencies and middle of the tuning range. Compact circuit size is achieved and good electrical performance can be observed within the tuning range. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 58:1469–1473, 2016
