In this article a novel dual band filter was presented for differential mode operation. In this design, there is complete design independence between both bands. It will be shown that the filters can be designed independently and then merged together to form the final structure. A dual band filter is presented with experimental and simulated results showing good agreement. This circuit was suitable for two‐dimensional fabrication without crossovers. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 58:864–868, 2016
