A cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna fed by a rounded bevel shaped patch has been proposed in this letter. The antenna structure uses coplanar waveguide technique with truncated ground plane. The cylindrical dielectric resonator (DR) loads the patch at low frequencies and also adds its own resonances to obtain a wideband performance. The proposed antenna structure achieves a measured impedance bandwidth of 124.4% covering frequency range from 4.4 to 18.9 GHz. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
