A dual‐band filter with very narrow bandwidths is demonstrated that is based on an extremely simple structure of a single‐section coupled line loaded with shunt inductors. The filter can be designed using a remarkably simple design procedure, which is demonstrated in this work. Moreover, its dual‐band performance expands the versatility of the proposed filter to include multiband applications. Experimental results show measured Q‐factors of as high as 88.26 and 77.74 at 2.0 and 3.0 GHz, respectively. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 57:2083–2085, 2015
