This letter presents a high performance superconducting common resonator diplexer design with wide stopband. The relationship between the channel isolations and diplexer topologies is investigated. The channel isolations are mostly determined by the resonators close to the output port. So under a given isolation value, some of the branch resonators far from the output port can be replaced by dual‐band resonators. The proposed common resonator diplexer has no need of the extra matching network, resulting compact size, and simple design. The two channel frequencies and bandwidths of the diplexer can be independently controlled. Measured results agree well with the simulated ones. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
