Modified calculation for input impedance of probe‐fed and inset‐fed rectangular microstrip antennas

An approach to the modified calculation for input impedance of inset‐fed rectangular microstrip antenna and probe‐fed rectangular microstrip antenna with variable air gap and varying aspect ratio is presented. To modify the expressions for the input impedances of the antennas, continuous parameter genetic algorithm (CPGA) has been used. The results obtained by CPGA for different antenna dimensions are compared with the experimental and theoretical results given in the literature. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
