This article presents an adaptive tuning technique for improving the power flatness of an X‐band frequency multiplier. The major features are highlighted: a tunable band‐pass filter, and a microcontroller process. Simulation and measurement results show the power flatness is improved from 5–5.5 dB to 0.5–1 dB. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 57:1056–1060, 2015
