In this work, two semianalytical methods are compared for computing the radiation characteristics of a Fabry–Perot cavity excited by an internal current line source. One method uses the ray launching and the other method uses the ray tracing. A full‐wave method is used as a reference. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 57:13–15, 2015
