This article reports a new ground‐embedded dual‐slot perturbation for a reconfigurable circularly polarized microstrip antenna. The perturbation consists of the small inner and the large outer slots with two PIN diodes in one diagonal corner for generating and alternating right‐/left‐handed circular polarization, respectively. The measured results of the implemented antenna which used the ground‐embedded dual slot show an agreement with the simulation and successfully demonstrate circularly‐polarized radiations with good controllability. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
