ABSTRACT The utilization of UHF Radio Frequency Identification tag to monitor the tire history in automotive tire applications is presented. This article presents a new design structure antenna and miniaturization techniques. The resonance frequency, the total gain is observed at 915 MHz, 2.3 dB respectively. This letter illustrates the mechanism of miniaturization and key dimension parameter analysis. An optimized design with 50% size reduction was fabricated and measured, where very good agreement between simulation and measurement was obtained. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
