This article describes an uniform three‐dimensional coefficient for diffraction above a perfectly conducting wedges. Contrary to the usual form of the coefficient of Pathak and Koujoumjian, it uses a square root and simple mathematical operations to reach the result. This form is obtained by limited development around the optical transition ISB and RSB. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 56:1238–1239, 2014
