Two mixers using a “surface‐volume” hybrid integration approach and a “surface” integration approach are designed and fabricated. Their performances are compared with different measurement methods. Experiment results show that this so‐called surface‐volume hybrid integration approach demonstrates advantages when compared with a monotonous integration approach under certain circumstances. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
